In this paper, we develop a standardised process on how to handle the emerging smart card data in an interoperable environment. The goal is to present a unified approach where data mining tools and model applications can be tested and implemented in every region embedded in the integrated network.
Building a smart ticket (or smart card) on the Calypso Standard enables detailed specifications on how to securely transmit ticket data between a traveler’s card, a phone or watch and a ticketing reader. The specifications cover: Card personalization. Purchase, reload and validation information. In public transit, the use of smart cards for payment requires the existence of a corporate information system, which makes it possible to validate the use of the card through the network, while storing transaction data for its financial accounting process.
