Our research highlights the need for further studies on the ethical considerations of tagging humans and specifically tracking consumers when performing marketing activities with RFID. The American Medical Association (AMA) has officially established a code of ethics designed to protect patients receiving RFID implants. The recommendations focus on safeguarding a patient’s privacy and health, and are the result of an evaluation by the AMA’s Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs (CEJA) regarding the medical and ethical .Some of the major characteristics of RFID include Tags can take a variety of shapes and sizes. Tags can be a fraction of an inch to several inches in length, width and depth. Read range can be several inches up to more than 100 feet based on powering of reader and/or chip.
